How to use Offset Constraint in CATIA V5?

Offset Constraint in CATIA V5: Offset constraint is used to make a sketch w.r.t already drawn sketch at a desired distance. The sketching will be easier by the use of offset constraint in CATIA V5.In this article, I am going to explain the usage of Offset Constraint in CATIA V5 in a detailed manner. The step by step procedure is to be needed to adopt the usage of Offset Constraint in CATIA V5 and is as follows.

Offset Constraint in CATIA V5-Procedure:

To use Offset Constraint in CATIA V5,
  • Select a plane (say XY Plane).
  • Draw a circle with the given dimensions.
  • Now, go to Insert-Operation-Transformation-Offset.
  • Click on the circle and move the cursor to some distance to provide the necessary amount of Offset from the original circle and this process continues.
This is the complete explanation of offset constraint in CATIA V5.

How to import a model from CATIA to ANSYS via Creo?

How to import a model from CATIA to ANSYS via Creo?
Import a model from CATIA to ANSYS via Creo: Whenever a model is prepared by any design software, it has to be analyzed by means of ANSYS software so as to calculate the deformations, stresses, strains etc. But, if there is a problem of import, then we should have to face issues related to that. Therefore in this article, I am going to publish How to import a model from CATIA to ANSYS via Creo. A detailed procedure is required for proper import.

Import a model from CATIA to ANSYS via Creo-Procedure:

A detailed procedure is as follows:
  • The modeling has to be done in CATIA and is to be saved in the form of  “.igs” format.
  • Then, that model has to be imported to Creo so that “.igs” is to be converted to “Parasolid”.
  • Now, its the time for importing into ANSYS.
  • From ANSYS  it is to be imported as a Parasolid format so as to analyze the model.
  • Analyze a part or a model in the sense finding out stresses, strains, deformations, von Mises stress etc.
  • During analysis, it has to be found that whether the structure’s yield point is less than or greater than the yield point of the material.
  • If it is more than the yield point of the material then we should have to optimize it so that the structures yield point should be less than the yield point of the original material.
  • If the yield point of the structure is less than the yield point of the material then the structure is safe for further loads.

How to Hide or Show any component in CATIA V5?

How to Hide or Show any component in CATIA V5?

Hide or Show any component in CATIA V5: Hide or Show feature is used in all the design software’s to hide any part from its assembly. Whenever a complex structure is shown its very difficult to analyze it. Therefore we should have to use Hide or show feature to look at the inner parts in an easier way. In this article, I am going to publish about how to Hide or Show any component in CATIA V5 in a detailed manner.

This Feature is used to either HIDE or SHOW the parts in an assembly. If you want to visualize the inner view of an assembly section(product) then you can HIDE the outer part and see the inner view. This view gives the appropriate results while Dimensioning.
A step by step procedure is to be adopted to know about how to Hide or Show any component in CATIA V5 and is as follows:

Hide or Show any component in CATIA V5-Procedure:

  • Firstly take any plane and let it be XY Plane.
  • Draw a rectangular component with the specified dimensions.
  • Pad it so as to get a solid shape.
  • Take the Top view and draw two circles.
  • Pad them to the required dimensions.
  • Provide the color to them so that when you are applying the hide or show feature that should resemble it.
  • Right click on the component and say Hide/show. That’s it.
  • That component is disappeared from the screen and you can view the model without the component which is disappeared.
In this way, you can use this Hide/Show feature in CATIA V5 to look at the component in a better way.
